Ben Duvall’s Buffalo utilizes the formulaic visual language of computer coding as a poetic trope. Planned onto massive, rectangular pages, his text trickles down in sharp diagonals, isolated arrays or backwards marches-- each formatting change enriching the effort to decode and comprehend the phrases chosen. Duvall’s stylistic sensibility creates a caricature of both shape-poetry and spatial coding; Buffalo cheekily refers to both conventions, while ultimately insisting on its uniqueness as a text-object, bound in flat, brown cardstock, with the title and author's’ name printed in simple black stencils. The book’s physical formatting evokes a relationship to manuscripts or other devised blueprints of a system of function or dysfunction.

In his web and print-based practices, Ben Duvall distorts contemporary placement of word and image, making each less legible by championing the convergence of the two as one, fluctuating method of communication.

We ship orders roughly bi-weekly; the first and third week of every month. Please plan accordingly! Unfortunately we do not have the ability to meet the expectation of amazon-speed order fulfillment. Covid-19:

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, shipping and email response times may be delayed. As a result of numerous factors, we are not able to make it to studio as often and have numerous other responsibilities and concerns to field. We are working through TXTbooks concerns as best as we can.

Shipping Methods:

We ship via USPS Media Mail in the United States for bound publications, USPS First Class for posters and other non-bound materials.
International shipping is slow and expensive, as you probably know. We ship via USPS then international affiliates handle once in destination country.

Packaging Notes:

Zines are mailed in stay-flat mailers.
Prints are mailed in stay-flats (letter) and mailer tubes (tabloid).
Stickers are mailed in envelopes.

Returns:

Unfortunately we cannot process returns.
