"Books Make Friends" was created to celebrate the power of zine-making in creating community with a special reflection on both our own project as a group of friends, and our peers we've grown close to.

It was created for the now-cancelled 2020 LA Art Book Fair, Shelved during Pandemic, and only rediscovered in October.

The phrase "Books Make Friends" is taken from a stamp of the same phrasing used by Duncan Hamilton at Pratt Institute to contextualize the end-of-course project (a collaborative zine box.)

This course was the humble beginnings of our project, which has morphed many times out from there after graduating.

The froggies were drawn by Thomas Colligan, the poster designed by Kurt Woerpel.

*Normal* Shipping Schedule:

We ship orders roughly bi-weekly; the first and third week of every month. Please plan accordingly! Unfortunately we do not have the ability to meet the expectation of amazon-speed order fulfillment. We are a small team trying to make this happen. We might make a mistake on your order. Please email us if this is the case. We will try to make it right. Thanks for understanding!

Covid-19:

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, shipping and email response times may be delayed. As a result of numerous factors, we are not able to make it to studio as often and have numerous other responsibilities and concerns to field. We are working through TXTbooks concerns as best as we can.

Shipping Methods:

We ship via USPS Media Mail in the United States for bound publications, USPS First Class for posters and other non-bound materials.
International shipping is slow and expensive, as you probably know. We ship via USPS then international affiliates handle once in destination country.

Packaging Notes:

Zines are mailed in stay-flat mailers.
Prints are mailed in stay-flats (letter) and mailer tubes (tabloid).
Stickers are mailed in envelopes.

Returns:

Unfortunately we cannot process returns.
