Thanks so much for taking an interest in what we do, or atleast are *trying* to do.
TXTbooks is an artist-run independent publishing initiative in Brooklyn, NY.
Our interest is in self-publishing as a collective while facilitating projects with artists and writers working across many disciplines. Our best case scenario is to publish those who have not yet considered producing a zine, or at least don't consider it their main practice; Our ultimate goal is to create dumb jokes and passion projects with as many people as possible.
Our publications are resolved via Risograph printing for cost-effective self production and as an informal way to aesthetically bind our output.
Founded in 2014, TXTbooks is currently maintained by Robert Blair, Thomas Colligan, Nichole Shinn, Rose Wong, and Kurt Woerpel.
We offer various print services for those interested. Please read through our printing F.A.Q. before e-mailing us with inquiries.
As a general rule, Riso is best-suited for smaller jobs like posters and zines. Larger jobs take a lot of time and consideration so please be mindful when planning a project. More info at...

We are a small team trying to make this happen. We might make a mistake on your order. Please email us if this is the case. We will try to make it right. Thanks for understanding!
Hours of Operation:

Bushwick off the Morgan L.
Location by appointment only.
Time and Funding:
TXTbooks is somewhere between a full-time side project and a co-op. We are funded in part by small printing jobs, in part by zine sales and wholesale, and in part by personal funding from member's other jobs (where needed). We kind of offset everything as best we can and are trying to become more self-sustaining as we continue to operate. If anyone wants to reach out and talk more about how we run/fund, feel free to do so! We are trying our best.
We do not offer internships at this time and currently do not plan to do so. If you are interested in learning more about running a publishing project of this nature, please feel free to email us or come by our studio and say hi! We are always happy to chat and share any insight into this realm, give tips on starting your own project, or share any resources that may be available.
The font family used on this website and across our materials is "TXTbooks GrotTXT." It has three widths, was designed for us by Kurt Woerpel, and is not available for general use.
We are available for design work and collaborations if you like. Books, websites, etc. Full portfolio upon request.
Wow, you really read the whole thing? That's so sweet of you...
